About Kristin

Crunky

I’m a 23 year old, AU business grad looking for some adventure. I’m teaching in Korea so I can eat fun foods, learn Korean, travel and maybe prepare to get a Masters in counseling one day. This blog is for family and friends who are no doubt worrying about me or at least wondering about my activities.

I hope to respond to every comment and blog as often as humanly possible.

So why “Hello Annyong”?

One of my favorite TV shows is Arrested Development and all of the characters on the show call one Korean boy “annyong” because they think it is his name when in fact the boy is just saying “hello” in Korean. I find this situation extremely comical.

Of course, I did until I got to Korea and every child below the age of 13 or so seems to be shouting the word “hello” at me as if it were my name. Oh sweet, sweet irony.

Wow! What an awesome blog it is!
    I was surprised when I read your journal;
You vividly describe everything that you’ve done and felt since you came to Korea.
And your photography makes me amazed as well.
I think you are talented with photography, which is like an art.
Hopefully, you will have a lot of unforgettable memories here in Korea.

Maybe we’ll have even more luck taking photos Saturday!!

Hey! While doing my biweekly internet stalking of blogs penned in Seoul I stumbled upon yours. I am from PG County (specifically Bowie) in Maryland. And I am an INSANE Arrested Development fan…infact three seasons of the Bluths are the only DVDs that made the trans-Pacific journey with me. I couldn’t help but smile seeing Annyong all decked out for the get out to vote assembly.

Anyway, I just wanted to drop a line and say hi to a kindred spirit out here in this crazy city. Your blog will certainly provide me with some entertainment on afternoons when I’ve done my lesson planning and just have to desk warm.

    Have a great night!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. It’s always great to hear from another Arrested Development fan, especially in Korea; I tried explaining the joke to my co-teachers but I’m not sure it translated well. Also, it took forever to hunt down that photo for the header but I knew it was the perfect one way back when I first came to Korea.

Anyhow, your blog is plenty fun to follow as well – I hope you don’t mind me linking to it!

You are missed just as much! My mom tells me you’ve been on a quest for a blueberry pie? I wish you the absolute best in that endeavor because I have not seen a blueberry since I got here.

Great job! I was chatting with your Mom and she mentioned the link. And, I’m glad she did!

I feel it’s a very “daily routine” kinda blog – a leisurely read. It’s the variety I sense that makes it more interesting. If you are visiting India given you are in the neighborhood then ping me.

    Enjoy!

I’m glad you like it. I don’t think I’m really after anything with this blog – I just make a post when I feel something needs to be said or I want to scare my mom with photos of the indigenous spider populations.

India sounds like a wonderful destination- is there any place in particular I should stop by?

Hi there. I ran across your blog while searching for info on gangnam lasik centers. I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind sharing what you paid for your lasik? I am considering it and wanted to get a ballpark cost range. Thanks so much! Cheers.
