Hello First Schedule!

August 24, 2009

Just so everyone knows this is my orientation week schedule for the week, the times from Tuesday are the same for the rest of the schedule:

Tuesday (today): Teaching class from 9AM-11:50AM, Lunch, Teaching class from 2 PM to 4:50PM, Dinner, Korean language class 7PM-8:50PM

Wednesday: Korean Paper Craft (Yes, seriously)/Medical Check Up, Lunch, Class MGMT class/mini-lesson, Optional class

Thursday: Co teaching class, Lunch, Seoul City Tour, Dinner, Prep for Lesson/Optional class

Friday: Teaching Practice, Lunch, Teaching Practice, Dinner, Taewondo

Saturday: Check out and load luggage & farewell lunch – Leave at 2PMish for my school and apartment with Co-teacher. Woohoo!

It’s pretty well organized so far – us teachers have been treated to a performance from a small trio on traditional Korean instruments, a number of comprehensive booklets and guides, and a brief history of Korea – all extremely interesting but not quite engaging enough with most of us suffering what seems like insurmountable jetlag or indigestion. I’m having a surprisingly simple time adjusting to the food but I do not believe that is the case for about 80% of my fellow teachers. Oh well, we’ll have to make it.

On a side note I am determined to learn two Korean words a day – tune in to see what they are if I even remember them at all!
